Horsforth Mills was a former mill in the process of being converted in 89 luxury 1, 2 and 3 bed?apartments. The site consists of an old mill which will house 34 apartments, attached to the mill is a 6-story extension which houses a further 55 apartments.
As part of the refurbishment project Future Power Systems have designed and installed all electrical systems as well as a mechanical?extraction system in this development. The mill and extension buildings have large PV systems on the roofs to increase the sustainability of the development, with the panels adding up?to?77KW array while the annex has a smaller 9.6KW array.
The site required a new sub-station which feeds an electrical riser on each floor where power is distributed to each apartment and landlords supply via a BNO mains distribution system.?As part of the electrical system installation a conventional fire alarm system which supports an extensive smoke ventilation system was required.
As part of the project we also installed an access control facility to all main entrances via key fob entry and video intercom, this to increase security for all residents.
This project took 12 months to complete on a rolling contract with the principle contractors and remained in line with completion dates.
